Each fall, as a part of our budgeting process, we review and adjust our rates to reflect both the rising costs for our water supply and increased expense for water treatment to meet water quality regulations. Based on our anticipated expenses, we determine whether a rate increase is needed. At the November 12, 2020 Rates and Fees Public Hearing the Board of Directors approved a 2.2% increase on all Tier Rates for our residential and non-residential customers. The monthly base rate will have an increase of 2.2%, raising the rate for 5/8” residential customers by $0.62 per month.

When we experience a cold snap chances of pipes freezing increase. If you have very little water running in your house, or in certain areas of your house, your pipes may have frozen. To help prevent pipes from freezing inside your home make sure pipes in cold spaces (garages, unfinished basements) are wrapped in foam insulation. But even pipes in other areas of your home may freeze. Keep the cabinet doors under sinks open to help heat circulate. If your home is subject to frozen pipes it is a good idea to run a constant trickle of water.
Earlier this year District Manager Michael Cook announced his plan to retire in May of 2019. While we wish the best for Mike on his new adventures, we acknowledge his many Contributions to our organization. During Mike's years as District Engineer and District Manager of LTWD he guided the District in a very positive direction. Mike's management skills and knowledge have helped position the District for success as we move forward. His vision has laid the groundwork for the District to continue "serving our customers with safe, reliable and good tasting water at a fair price."
